Engineering thermoplastics: All but ABS and PC firm

07 Dec 2009 • by Natalie Aster

West European engineering thermoplastics prices, excluding ABS and the PC fringes, changed little in November, the newsletter Plastics Information Europe (PIE, Bad Homburg / Germany; www.pieweb.com) says in its latest price report, now online.

Passing on a cumulative two monthsґ reduction in styrene monomer, ABS lost around EUR 30/t. Standard PC grades slipped by EUR 40/t at the lower end, while more specialised grades at the upper end rose by the same margin. Supply was mostly good except for several niche products, especially the tight PA 6.6. Overall, the market seems well balanced, says PIE.
